Our Mission.
At Innocent Prisoner Advocates, our mission is to provide resources to support bridge loans, mental health, and community connectivity for newly exonerated men and women across the United States.
OUR WHY.
- At the time of his release in 2014, Rickey Jackson was the longest wrongfully incarcerated person in U.S. history, spending 39 years on death row and in prison for a murder he didn't commit.
- After being exonerated, Rickey left prison with no property, housing, employment, or ID, and spent the next several years fighting to receive compensation from the state for the time wrongfully taken from him.
- Rickey partnered with producer Matt Waldeck and production company Zodiac Features to tell his miraculous story of endurance, love and forgiveness in the award winning film Lovely Jackson and launched Innocent Prisoner Advocates to help other men and women like him by offering the support and dignity he never received.
- A portion of all profits generated by Lovely Jackson benefit Innocent Prisoner Advocates and its mission.
